In a peculiar incident, a traditional leader has gone missing without a trace. Vhamusanda Maṱodzi Nthakheni Ramabulana (50), from Khakhanwa Mulenzhe outside Thohoyandou, was last seen at his home on Saturday, 2 November, around 05:00.
From what has been gathered, the last person he spoke to was his wife, asking her what time it was before leaving without mentioning where he was headed. He was dressed in a green work-suit top, black trousers, and safety boots.
The missing leader's sister, Makhadzi Vho Tshililo Minica Ramabulana, said the family was deeply worried and confused. “We know him as an indoor person who only goes out with a purpose. He would leave only for his piece jobs and come back. Even when visiting relatives, he’d return home soon after. This has surprised all of us. We have no idea what could have happened or where he might be,” she said.
She added that they had searched everywhere, contacting friends, relatives, and everyone close to him, but without success. “We don’t know what to do. Everyone is panicking, and there is no peace in the family. How could we eat and sleep peacefully, not knowing where our loved one is?”
Ramabulana mentioned that they had reported his disappearance to the local police and were receiving regular updates, which gave them hope that he would be found. “We are appealing to anyone who might have information about his whereabouts to please contact the family at (063) 101-6884 or (076) 154-9921,” she said.
