In the constantly evolving music industry, where popular hits often overshadow emerging talent, Kislev Ramanyimi is a name that stands out. Producing music under the name Flash Cortez, he hails from Waterval.

Last Friday, 6 September, a song titled “Memory of You”, produced by Flash Cortez and performed by artists Aubrey Qwana, Trymore, Maraza, Mally, and Sannere, was released. Since its launch, the song has been gaining thousands of streams on major music platforms such as YouTube.

The song is dedicated to the memory of Malome Vector, Lizwi Wokuqala, and video director Da Mos, who tragically died two months ago in a car accident. It reflects the profound impact these individuals had on the music industry and the many lives they touched with their passion, talent, and dedication.

“It took me a week to produce the song. We created it after Malome’s passing because we felt the need to honour him as we lost our boss and fellow artist. I came up with the idea with Trymore as a tribute, and we decided to feature artists who had worked with him before his death,” Cortez said.

Cortez’s work has been making waves among those fortunate enough to experience it, including acclaimed artists such as Ntate Stunna and Sannere, among others. Flash Cortez also has several other singles, such as “Phambili nge War”, which has already amassed 1.4 million streams on YouTube.

His journey into music production began with playing drums at church when he was in Grade 3. "In 2019, I learned to mix, master, and make beats,” he said. Since then, he has gained recognition for his talent and signed with The Whole Time Entertainment, a record label founded by the late Malome Vector from Lesotho.
