The Anza Lifestyle Lodge wins Vhembe Youth award

Mukovhe Mulaudzi, the winner of the Vhembe Youth in Business Competition Award in the Tourism Sector, expressed her delight and gratitude for being part of this prestigious event. She said, “Our dreams are always possible; it is only hard work and dedication that can put you up there.”

The awards were handed over during a prestigious function at the Dzanani Community Hall in Biaba, Nzhelele, on Friday, 14 June. Mulaudzi, the owner of The Anza Lifestyle Lodge, received a cheque for R135,000. The awards also included categories for agriculture and enterprise development.

Reflecting on the tourism industry in Vhembe, Mulaudzi said, “The tourism sector in Vhembe is a growing yet challenging sector with so many departments within it. We are learning every day and keep advancing our studies in tourism with the aspiration to one day be experts in the sector. The prize money will help us improve our facilities.”

Mulaudzi plans to use the prize money to procure more indigenous plants to enhance the lodge's landscaping and to improve the road leading to the lodge, which was damaged during the rainy season. Located just north of Louis Trichardt town, The Anza Lifestyle Lodge provides accommodation and caters to a variety of tourists. The lodge employs 28 staff members on a shift basis.

Acting Executive Mayor of Vhembe District Municipality Rose Mathukha affirmed the district's commitment to supporting youth empowerment and entrepreneurship. “We recognise the potential of our young people to contribute to the district’s economic development and social transformation. We gather to acknowledge and reward your hard work, dedication, and innovation. Your achievements are a testament to the fact that our district is a hub of talent, creativity, and entrepreneurship,” said Mathukha.
