Will Flying Peace pay for Fire Boys’ Apollo Cup defeat?

The last-16-round matches for the Funanani Ndou Attorneys Soccer Tournament will be played at the Khubvi Benjie’s Grounds this weekend. Four matches will be played on Saturday, with the remaining four scheduled for Sunday.

Whether Tshamutilikwa Fire Boys will manage to rise to the occasion and make Thengwe Flying Peace pay for the 1-3 defeat they suffered at the hands of Tshishivhe Tiger Boys in their Apollo Bottle Store Soccer Tournament match last Sunday remains to be seen. Flying Peace and Fire Boys will meet in one of the four matches that will be played on Saturday. The likes of Brilliant Maepa and Ridovhona Sikhapha will cause havoc in Flying Peace’s danger zone if they are not well contained.

Maelula United Brothers will do battle for the championship against Gondeni Big Cat in the opening match. Big Cat had beaten Tshandama Try Together 1-0 in their opening match to secure a place in the top-16 stage.

Benny’s Care Academy, whose road to the round of 16 went via Saudi FC, will entertain Mutshenzheni Gorillas, starting at 13:00. Berea FC will meet Makonde Home Defenders later in the afternoon. Berea’s way to the round of 16 was not an easy one. They crushed Mukula Young Santos 4-2 through a penalty shootout at the same venue last Saturday.

Rams Academy will take on Makonde FC on Sunday morning. Tshiombo Try Again are gearing up for a tough match against ABC FC, with whom they will lock horns at 11:00. Try Again had beaten Tshivhazwaulu Peace Makers 4-0 last Saturday.

Matangari High Aims are aiming to crush Thohoyandou Manchester Flying Stars when they meet at 13:00. Tshimuthe FC and Annel Real Vikings will wrap up the day’s matches.
