Who will be crowned the Champ of Champs for Vhembe?

The Champ of Champs in the Safa Vhembe Hollywoodbets League will be crowned at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Four teams - Mashamba Soccer Academy, Berea FC, Tshikhwani Stone Breakers, and FC Basel - have secured places in the semi-final round of the tournament.

The draw for the semi-final matches was conducted at the association’s offices on Monday morning. The first semi-final match will be between FC Basel and Mashamba Soccer Academy at 09:00. Basel finished at the top of Group A with 10 points, having won three of their group-stage games and drawn one. Mashamba Soccer Academy finished second in Group B with nine points. Their only defeat in the group stage was against Berea FC, losing 0-1 in their opening match.

Berea FC will meet Tshikhwani Stone Breakers in the second semi-final match, which is scheduled to start at 11:00. Tshikhwani Stone Breakers will be in for a surprise if they underestimate Berea, as Berea’s performance in the group stage was superb. Their worst result was a 1-1 draw against Univen FC. Stone Breakers are the second-best team in Group A with eight points.

The Sasol Women’s League match between Rodadau FC and Masakona Liberty Experience will follow at 13:00. The winners of the semi-final matches will meet in the final at 15:00.

The teams playing in the final will parade in new soccer kits donated by Venda Football Club. The overall winner will represent the region in the provincial promotional-playoff tournament, which will be hosted by the Sekhukhune Regional League on a date yet to be confirmed. The top two teams in the provincial promotional playoffs will be promoted to the ABC Motsepe League.
