Merwe United in for a tough battle

The struggle for promotion and to escape relegation will continue among the teams affiliated with the Limpopo stream of the Sasol Women’s League this weekend. Whether Merwe United Ladies will manage to rise to the occasion and stop Rodadau FC when they meet at the Tshitungulwane Grounds outside Vuwani on Saturday afternoon remains to be seen.

Rodadau are one of the hot contenders for the league title. They are currently lying in second position on the log standings with 15 points, three behind the pace-setters, Sinthumulekutama FC. Rodadau have lost only one of the six matches they have played to date.

Merwe United Ladies are yet to win a league match this season. The Malamulele side are still in mourning, following their 0-3 defeat at the hands of Sinthumulekutama FC at the Merwe Grounds last Saturday.

After donating league points to Rodadau FC last Saturday, Lacoste Morning Stars will host Real Mighty Ladies at the Shayandima School Grounds on Saturday. Mighty Ladies are yet to register a victory this season. They are rooted at the bottom of the log with only one point.

Sealene Ladies are waiting for Masakona Liberty Experience, with whom they will lock horns at the Lulekani Stadium outside Phalaborwa. Tshandama Young Stars will travel to Bolobedu outside Tzaneen, where they will play against Sisters FC at the Bolobedu Grounds. Just like Real Mighty Ladies, Tshandama Young Stars are yet to win a league match so far.

The other fixtures are Dinaledi Ladies vs. Kanatla Ladies, Maindis Ladies vs. Golden Diamond Ladies, Mandebele Happy Fighters Ladies vs. FC 50 Stars United, and Ramatlaohle Ladies vs. University of Limpopo Ladies.
