Prudence crafts flavourful experiences with Rave About Sauce

Prudence Maloka-Manenzhe is not just building a business; she is crafting a unique experience through her venture, Rave About Sauce. The young entrepreneur from Tshikwarani in the Kutama region is making waves in the agro-processing industry by blending distinctive flavours into her chili sauces, jams, dips, and pastes.

Armed with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Maharishi International University and practical training in food and beverage packaging through FoodBev Seta, Prudence initially launched Rave About Us Events, a company focused on catering and events management. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and the events industry slowed down, she quickly adapted, turning her attention to agro-processing. This move transformed her business into what is now known as Rave About Sauce.

“When the events industry slowed down during the pandemic, I decided to pivot into agro-processing. I started making chili sauces, relishes, and seasonings, and soon it became our main business,” she explained. Her products are more than just condiments; they are crafted to offer customers an immersive experience. “Our chili products take you on a journey with every bite, thanks to the rich flavours and heat,” she added.

As her business grew, so did her ambitions. Moving from her home kitchen to a full production facility was a significant turning point for Rave About Sauce. “This was a major step in our growth, and it also helped us improve our compliance and production capacity,” said Maloka-Manenzhe.

For Maloka-Manenzhe, success is not just about her own achievements. She is passionate about empowering young people with the skills to turn their ideas into reality. “I want to inspire others to create value with their minds and hands, and show them that they, too, can build a profitable business,” she emphasised.

Despite the challenges of being a young female entrepreneur, Prudence remains determined. “It’s tough, but with the support of my family and other stakeholders, I’ve been able to push forward,” she said. In 2020, she was nominated to represent South Africa in the SADC region at the Miss Career Africa competition, where she competed in Rwanda.
