FC Basel are the Vhembe champs and walk away with R60,000

FC Basel will have no one else to blame if they fail to advance in the provincial promotional playoffs, which will be hosted by the Sekhukhune region. The exact date of the matches is yet to be announced. The team received well wishes from Dr Phophi Ramathuba, the Premier of Limpopo Province, and from all mayors of local municipalities falling under Vhembe District Municipality. This occurred during a ceremony held at Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday afternoon.

Basel clinched the title of overall champions for Safa Vhembe before the ceremony by defeating Berea FC 1-0 in the final to claim the trophy. They were awarded R60,000 in cash, a floating trophy, two sets of soccer kits, and gold medals. Basel's path to the final included a 2-1 victory over Mashamba Soccer Academy in the semi-final, played earlier that day at the same venue.

Berea FC, finishing as runners-up, received R40,000, two sets of soccer kits, and silver medals. Berea had secured their spot in the final with a commanding 4-0 victory over Tshikhwani Stone Breakers in the semi-final match.

Mashamba Soccer Academy, who took third place, received R25,000, while fourth-placed Tshikhwani Stone Breakers were awarded R15,000.

Six teams eliminated in the group stages—Thohoyandou Manchester Flying Stars, Musasenda Big Five, Igwe FC, Tshikovha Arsenal, Univen FC, and Maelula United Brothers—each received R10,000.

The tournament's best player, Hlulani Khuzwayo from FC Basel, received R2,000. Livhuwani Mbulaheni of Berea FC won the best-goalkeeper award, along with R1,500. Livhuwani Masera from Tshikhwani Stone Breakers was recognised as the top goal scorer. Mr Vhutshilo Makhado was named the best coach and received R1,500, while Mr. Tshifhiwa Tshishonga was honoured as the best referee, also receiving R1,500 during the ceremony.
