Madridtas and Mpheni Defenders in league decider

Teams affiliated with the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League will play their final league matches for the current season this Saturday. The match not to be missed will be between Madridtas FC and Mpheni Defenders at the Tshifudi Stadium.

Mpheni Defenders need only one point in the match to be crowned the Stream A league champions. Defenders are leading the stream with 31 points, three ahead of Emmanuel FC. A quick glance at the head-to-head history of the two teams shows that Madridtas will be lucky if they manage to hold Defenders to a draw on Saturday. Defenders had beaten Madridtas 1-0 in their first-round league match at the Mpheni Grounds on Saturday, 27 January.

The head coach of Defenders, Mr Sydwell Phuravhathu, is adamant that they will beat Madridtas and secure a place in the promotional playoffs. He stressed the fact that although one point would be enough for them to partake in the promotional playoffs, they were going for a win.

Vondwe XI Bullets will wrap up their league programme with a home match. They will host Maruleng Celtic at the Makonde Stadium. Bullets will pin their hopes on Mulamuleli Netshidzivhe, Phathutshedzo Nemagovhani, and the team’s captain, Talifhani Manyaga, for goals.

United Artists will entertain Musina United at the Malamulele Stadium. Giyani Happy Boys and Munaca FC will fight for league points at the Xikukwani Stadium outside Giyani. Emmanuel FC will visit Winners Park FC at the Westfalia Stadium outside Tzaneen. The other fixtures are The Dolphins FC vs City Motors, Mokopane PJ Stars vs Tzaneen United, Ditlou FC vs Mighty FC, Nkowankowa Continentals vs Eleven Fast Tigers, and Tubatse United vs Sun Rise FC.
