TNN lift Nevari Soccer Tournament trophy

Tshakhuma Na Ndilani FC (TNN) were crowned the champions of the Edward Nevari U/15 Soccer Tournament last Saturday.

They beat Tshakhuma Young Lions 2-0 in the final at Tshakhuma Malaria.

TNN received a floating trophy, gold medals and three soccer balls during a ceremony at the grounds shortly after the final.

The runners-up, Young Lions, took home silver medals and two soccer balls. The remaining teams were each given a consolation prize of two soccer balls each.

Tshifhiwa Mukwevho of Young Lions was nominated the most disciplined player in the tournament. The top goal scorer award was given to Adivhaho Madzivhe of TNN.

Abel Mashau of Young Lions was the recipient of the player of the tournament award. The individual winners all received trophies.

TNN, Tshakhuma Young Lions, Musundwa FC, Yebo Yes, Tshakhuma Young Tigers and Shayandima FC participated in the tournament

TNN beat Musundwa FC 2-3 in the semifinal stage of the tournament. Young Lions’ way to the final went via Yebo Yes, whom they beat 3-1.

According to one of the organisers of the tournament, Mr Mashudu “Coolio” Ndou, the tournament was staged in honour of one of the local soccer legends, the late Edward Nevari. Globe Financial Services and Sitimba Estate were the main sponsors of the tournament, while local community members also donated some cash.
