A soccer feast at Tshifudi Stadium

After a break of two weeks, the teams affiliated with the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League will be back in action this weekend. Tshifudi Stadium will be a hive of activity on Saturday afternoon, with two crucial matches scheduled to be played there. The first match will be between Mpheni Defenders and Madridtas FC, kicking off at 13:00.

Mpheni Defenders currently lead the pack, and dropping points on Saturday could jeopardise the team’s chances of securing a place in the national promotional playoffs at the end of the season. Head coach of Defenders Mr Sydwell Phuravhathu emphasised that everyone in their camp is aware of the importance of winning all four of their remaining matches to finish the league programme on top of the log.

Madridtas will be eager to bounce back after the 0-1 defeat they suffered at the hands of Defenders in their first-round league match, played at the Mpheni Grounds on Saturday, 27 January. The second match at Tshifudi Stadium will be between Vondwe XI Bullets and Maruleng Celtic, commencing at 15:00.

A victory for Bullets would enhance their chances of clinching the league title. Bullets currently sit in third place on the log standings with 20 points, seven behind the pacesetters, Mpheni Defenders. Maruleng Celtic closely trails in fourth position with the same number of points. Elsewhere, Emmanuel FC, another title contender, will travel to the Westfalia Stadium outside Tzaneen to face Winners Park FC.

Giyani Happy Boys will host Munaca FC at the Xikukwani Stadium outside Giyani. Munaca enters the match fresh from a 3-0 victory over Winners Park. United Artists will take on Musina United at the Malamulele Stadium. Other fixtures include The Dolphins FC vs City Motors, Mokopane PJ Stars vs Tzaneen United, Ditlou FC vs Mighty FC, Nkowankowa Continentals vs Eleven Fast Tigers, and Tubatse United vs Sun Rise FC.
