Malume Shinabya, a seasoned event organiser, is teaming up with Zwanga Matumba to host the highly anticipated Silala Music Festival on 13 July at Berea Madzonga Resort in Niani, Mutale.

Since 2014, Shinabya has been successfully hosting music festivals at various locations, including Berea Madzonga Resort, Zwigodini, Masisi, Giyani, and more. This year’s festival promises to be extra special, featuring a stellar lineup, with Alick Macheso from Zimbabwe and Naledi Kaisara, popularly known as Slizer, from Botswana.

According to Shinabya, “We’ve invited these talented musicians to perform at the festival because their music resonates deeply with African culture, which is particularly significant in the area where we’re hosting the event.”

The festival will also showcase local talent, including Zozo, Tshigomboza, Marko, and Pablo, all renowned South African rhumba musicians. Shinabya believes that for children born after 2000 to understand and appreciate African rhumba music is essential. “This festival aims to promote cultural preservation and exchange. As Niani is a hub where different cultures converge, this event promises to be a vibrant celebration of music, heritage, and community,” he said.

Tickets are available for purchase at Computicket and Shoprite, with prices set at R100 for early birds, R150 at the entrance, R500 for VIPs, and R2,000 for VVIPs.
