Radio Thohoyandou’s new breakfast-show host, Nakisani Mabogo, is giving listeners the time of their lives, keeping their ears glued to their radios. Having only started in August 2023, the popular presenter from Thohoyandou M East is fast becoming a household name and has amassed thousands of listeners within a short space of time. He presents the “91.7 Breakfast on Radio Thohoyandou” show, which airs between 7:00 and 10:00 from Monday to Friday and is an interaction between him and the listeners via social media.

“I fell in love with radio since my high school days, but the opportunity did not avail itself at the time. The love of radio led me to start my own YouTube channel called SABC 5. That was back in 2016, and I was doing sketch shows and interviews. The opportunity I have been waiting for came in August 2023 after the opening of Radio Thohoyandou when I was roped in as one of the presenters,” he said.

“The feeling of the show is so alive because I try to interact with the listeners via all social-media platforms. It can be via your X, Facebook, TikTok, even things like your WhatsApp video and voice calls. We are now like a family where we discuss all issues. I am enjoying every bit of it. My future plans are to polish my skills as a broadcaster. I wish I could get my show to streaming platforms which could reach everyone globally. My advice to the youth is to dream on until your dream comes true,” Mabogo said.
