An award-winning and multi-talented gospel artist, Boitumelo Sejeng, affectionately known as Tumi B in the music industry, has just released her new single, Fulufhelo Langa.
For Tumi B, who was born in the Nzhelele area, singing was sort of automatic. Having been born into a family of musicians, she had no other way but to follow her in parents’ footsteps. She said that she was highly inspired by them. With her father playing piano and doing vocals with her mother, music became an all-time lullaby for her.
She joined the church choir at the age of seven, and since then, it has been exposure after exposure. She gets invitations to sing at weddings and parties. "I really enjoy performing," she said.
The first professional experience she had was when she was doing soprano on her mother's project Mulilo Wa Yeso.
Her mother has been an inspiration and motivation to her, and she always encourages her to give every opportunity her best. Growing up, she used to listen to CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams and local Bishop Benjamin Dube.
"After years of serving as a backing vocalist, I realised that it was time to grow and spread my wings as a way of making my mark in the industry," she said. She released her debut album, Uncapped Worship – Trust, where the core message is trust. Trust has been her driving motto as she wanted to introduce herself into the industry. She only relied on God for direction and trusted Him to open doors for her.
Tumi B ensures that she gives back to her fellow men and women in society and she continues to use her life's experiences to help others realise that circumstances do not determine who they are or who they will become, but total belief in oneself will make them stand through it all.

The 22-year-old Mbulaheni (Gary) Ridovhona has been passionate about journalism to the extent that he would buy himself a copy of weekly Univen students' newsletter, Our Voice. After reading, he would write stories about his rural village, Mamvuka, and submit them to the very newsletter for publication. The revival of Tshivenda traditional music is not just the pipe dream of some idealists. Judging by the turnout during a meeting held in Thohoyandou this past weekend, this form of music is about to undergo a major revival.
Tshivenda traditional-music lovers are in for a treat with a collaboration between Tshivenda traditional music legend and veteran Solomon Mathase and popular poet and guitarist Dzomo la Venda. The two were spotted on Saturday, 20 April, at a function in Thohoyandou where they showcased their talents during a live performance.
During a Sunday sermon, Bishop Johannes Muofhe of the World Mission Church’s Fondwe branch prophesied that a musician, someone other than a member of the worship team, would emerge from the church.
With a successful roots-reggae album titled “Shandukani” to his name, Fhatuwani Richard Mashele is quickly becoming a household name in South African music. Better known as Jah Saint in music circles, Mashele believes that success does not come overnight and that one must work hard to earn it.
