Vhuyie da DJ pulled off a first in Vhembe District when he hosted a one-man show by spending eight hours on the decks, mesmerising music lovers at Migeroni Café in Maungani village, near Shayandima.
The event was made possible by his promoter, Rita Dee Entertainment, with the support of all the artists from the stable.
“One Man Show is an idea that I had conceptualised,” he said. “I was relaxing with friends one evening when the idea came into my head, and I considered it. I wanted to do something unique and in a different way, something remarkable and challenging, and so One-Man Show was born.”
Even though it was a one-man show, some supporting acts made the show worthwhile and inclusive, creating a sense of unity and a celebration of life among the local artists who had happened to come to support Vhuyie da DJ in his unconventional venture. They included, among others, Makhadzi and her dancers, Faltein, Mabanana, Thato, Duma, Thando, Razie Kay, Mr Majo, and MizoPhyll.
“I managed to fill up Migeroni Café with loving, caring and die-hard fans of Vhuyie Da DJ,” he said. “After this show, it just goes to show that the sky is definitely the limit and I've realised that I can achieve even more as long as I put my mind to it and work harder.”
Vhuyie da DJ extended special thanks to Rita Dee Entertainment and Takalani “Vho Migero” Masindi. “VCC Sound provided amazing production while my family and fans made the event a reality by showing up and cheering all evening and night long,” he said.
Vhuyie da DJ believes that the youth should first focus on acquiring education before attempting to pursue any of the pleasures of this world, for many of them are just distractions. He has his eye on furthering his LLB degree next year.

Tshifhiwa Given Mukwevho was born in 1984 in Madombidzha village, not far from Louis Trichardt in the Limpopo Province. After submitting articles for roughly a year for Limpopo Mirror's youth supplement, Makoya, he started writing for the main newspaper. Tshivenda traditional-music lovers are in for a treat with a collaboration between Tshivenda traditional music legend and veteran Solomon Mathase and popular poet and guitarist Dzomo la Venda. The two were spotted on Saturday, 20 April, at a function in Thohoyandou where they showcased their talents during a live performance.
During a Sunday sermon, Bishop Johannes Muofhe of the World Mission Church’s Fondwe branch prophesied that a musician, someone other than a member of the worship team, would emerge from the church.
With a successful roots-reggae album titled “Shandukani” to his name, Fhatuwani Richard Mashele is quickly becoming a household name in South African music. Better known as Jah Saint in music circles, Mashele believes that success does not come overnight and that one must work hard to earn it.
Khathutshelo Dzaga from Thohoyandou Block G, known as Khathu within music circles, has captivated her fans with her latest song, “Muvhonetsheli”. The song is a collaboration with Uber Black and features Racha Kill. The song is in Khathu’s familiar style, often described as a mixture of amapiano and Afro-beat.
