Unknown men gang-raped 22-year-old woman

 

Residents of Tshakhuma are still stunned, following a very disturbing incident in the village, where five unknown men allegedly gang-raped a 22-year-old woman. The incident happened on Saturday, 3 September.

According to the Levubu police spokesperson, W/O Solly Mukhola, the woman was walking at about 21:30 when an unknown man approached her and allegedly dragged her into the nearby bushes. "The man first allegedly raped the woman, before calling his other four friends, who then allegedly gang-raped her," said Mukhola.

He added that a case of rape had been opened with the police. "Members of our detective unit are busy conducting an investigation and hopefully we will soon make a breakthrough," promised Mukhola.

According to Mukhola, when the woman came to the police station to report the case, she had bruises because of the beatings.
