Ramantsha Masters beat Tshikwani 3-1

Ramantsha Masters were too good for Tshikhwani Masters when they beat them 3-1 in their soccer challenge match played at Tshikhwani on Sunday.

Tshikhwani started the game like a house on fire. That forced Ramantsha to play the first 20 minutes of the game with their backs against the wall. A corner kick in the 25th minute resulted in a scramble within the box and Mangalani Ndou scored the only goal for Tshikhwani with a beautiful shot.

A defender of Tshikhwani handled the ball within his own penalty area eight minutes later. The referee awarded a penalty to Ramantsha. Thinandavha Muleba scored from the white spot to equalise. The players of Tshikhwani were not happy with the referee’s decision to award Ramantsha the penalty. One of them, Given Muswobi, was reprimanded with a card after a continued argument with the referee.

Tshikhwani replaced Pat Nematandani with Sunday Makhado early in the second half. Ramantsha then sacrificed Mateo Phanyani for Skilo Mauluma. Sikobele Theka forced his way through the defence of Tshikhwani and beat the keeper with a volley to bring the score to 2-1 in the 67th minute.

Tshikhwani continued to play entertaining football despite the setback. They were denied what was arguably a legitimate goal in the 70th minute. Godfrey Magera’s goal was disallowed on the basis that the scorer was in an offside position. Thinandavha Muleba completed his brace and scored the third for Ramantsha from a free kick five minutes before full time.

Morethe Letswalo of Ramantsha is in possession of the ball and Mangalani Ndou attempts to intercept.
