Bishop Khorommbi’s humble prayer goes viral

The name “Bishop Khorommbi” is trending on social-media platforms such as TikTok, and this all due to a powerful prayer he shared.

Limpopo Mirror traced the man behind the prayer and found him at Khubvi village, where he currently resides. At the age of 28, Zwivhuya Khorommbi is the founder of the Bethel Zion Apostolic Church.

His prayer goes like this: “Ndi fara nda kaidza nda thuthekanya nda somba nda tsika nda hunga nda kwanya nda vhofha nga dzina la Yesu. Zwino! Zwothe zwi no tama u takutshela ntha zwa u nthupha u ntambudza na u ntshengedza. Ndi ri Sathane ha na maanda, ha na ndugelo, ha na u kona, ha na mukovhe vhutshiloni hanga. U so ngo tenda vha madambi na vhutulu, dzinanga mmbi na vhaporofita vhavhi na vhaloi vha tsh inga huvha mihuvho vha tshi nga ri koto, ro kona iwe Yehova u hone. Ndi imedzana na mamuya othe, mamuya a tshibakabaka, mamuya a swili, mamuya a tshipimbi, mamuya a vhonemashango vha shango lino, mamuya a swili. Zwino! Amen”.

Khorommbi was born in Tswera village but moved to Khubvi village around 2000. He believes his sudden fame on social-media platforms was mostly accidental. “By nature, I am not someone who seeks name or fame. I wasn't really a social-media person until last year, when one of my church members, Glory Ntshavheni, uploaded a video of me teaching in church. The response was overwhelming, and I started receiving calls from people who said my teachings were very powerful. I then considered getting involved in social media, so I could reach a larger audience who wanted to hear my teachings and prayers.”

He believes he was chosen by God to help people, as he was born and raised in the church. “I grew up under Bishop Lungisani Khavhadi, who shaped me into who I am today. He taught me how to interpret the Bible and how to prepare myself for powerful teachings. Indeed, God uses his people to bring changes to this world, which is why I will never forget Bishop Khavhadi's contributions to my spiritual growth.”

Khorommbi added that since “Thabela ya mato” had gone viral, he had received many invitations to minister the word of God in different parts of Vhembe. "Although this keeps me very busy, I have no other option but to make myself available because that is what the Lord has sent me to do in this world. I tell people who invite me not to give me credit but to credit God for giving me this gift, which is bringing spiritual change to many people.”

He criticised church leaders who find themselves on the wrong side of the law. “God is exposing them for their wicked ways done in the dark. We need to pray for them, so they can see the light.”
