Ten computers for Ravhura Primary

Ravhura Primary School, situated in the sub-village of Shadani, received a major technological boost when they were given 10 computers by Old Mutual.

The computers were handed over to the school by Mr Fhatuwani Ravhura, a member of the Royal family and senior financial advisor and international vice-president of the 51 Club of Old Mutual.

Ravhura said they decided to donate the computers as another way of ploughing back into the community. "We also wanted to make sure that pupils from this deep rural area have equal or more access to new technology. In this way we are investing in the future of our country as these children will gain confidence, which will make them to compete with their peers at any level.”

The chairperson of Sanco in the area, Mr Humbulani Sikhanukha, said the donation of the computers would help in shaping the village to take another direction "as the village was known for fist-fighting and alcohol abuse."

He added that they were sure that the computers would help to inspire education and “bring a new era in our area." Mr Aifheli Tshisikule, who spoke on behalf of the Mudaswali circuit, said that he was happy that Old Mutual was helping the Department of Education to join the world of technology.

Vhamusanda Vho-Edward Ravhura said he was happy that one of his villages would be able to develop through this donation. "With these computers, we are going to produce leaders who will also help to develop our community and country," said Vhamusanda Vho-Ravhura.
