Bishop thanks “strangers” who raised him

Two families from Shayandima, who welcomed a boy into their circle and raised him as their own son, were recently thanked by the boy, who is now a bishop.

Bishop Ernest Khorommbi, who started the Kingdom of Grace Worship Centre at Tshisahulu two years ago, dedicated his successes and founding of the church to the families of Solomon (65) and Gladys Nyambeni (60) and Sylvia Muntswu of Shayandima.

They took him under their care when his family sold their house at Shayandima and relocated to Gauteng. The young boy was left without a home, but he wanted to complete his studies in Venda.

Through his friendship with Ndivhuho Nyambeni, Khorommbi was finally accepted as a member of the families, who took care of him until he completed his studies.

Khorommbi organised a function to pay homage to his new family. The event took place in unison with the blessing and christening ceremony of his one-month-old daughter, Utshehone Amazing Grace Khorommbi.

During the service, attended by many worshippers and pastors, Khorommbi of Maniini Block K paid moving tribute to his new family. “Many of you do not know that I was homeless after my family moved back to Gauteng and I had to remain here in Venda. These families treated me like their own son. I got everything that they gave to my friend Ndivhuho; I was part of the family,” said Khorommbi.
