A youth group from Matangari, Khesh Fam Record, recently released their first album, Rina Power.

The 10-track album consists of popular songs such as the title track, Nwana onakesa, and Khotsi fhatutshedza. The group's founder and leader, Mulisa Mammba, said the group had faced many challenges over the years, but soldiered on. "We started this group in 2010 to prove that good things can emerge from the rural areas."

He revealed that it had been difficult to sustain the spirit of the group in the first days, since not all the members had shared the group’s vision. "My purpose was not only to keep the youths from the harsh street life of crime and substance abuse, but I wanted for the youths to create a platform of expressing their feelings through music.”

He urged all young females in the music industry to remain bold or else they will be taken advantage of by older men.

The group is marketing the album themselves and fans wishing to buy copies of the new album can do so by contacting the founder, Mulisa Mammba, at 072 578 2855.
