Maelula United Brothers go all out for promotion

Maelula United Brothers are going all out in their efforts to be promoted during the SAFA Vhembe promotional play-offs, which will start on 8 June.

The winners of the 18 streams will showcase their mettle during Saturday’s play-off matches at Tshifulanani, Makhuvha, Tshifudi, Malamulele, and Thohoyandou Stadium.

Tshikhwani Stone Breakers, the winners of Stream E, will come up against Makhitha Oscar Stars, who won Stream E2. According to the manager of Stone Breakers, Mr Tsotso Mulaudzi, their success can be attributed to the commitment of the players and management. “The cooperation between the players, management, and the technical staff made the job easier throughout the long season,” said Mulaudzi.

Mulaudzi mentioned that the team had played a number of friendly matches in preparation for the promotional play-offs. When asked about their level of readiness for the play-offs, he said they were leaving no stone unturned in their preparations.

Maelula United Brothers (MUB), the champions of Stream G1, will meet Stream G2 winners Rabali Pull Together and are in jovial mood after their dream of participating in the promotional play-offs became a reality. The question that remains unanswered is whether they will manage to make the grade in the provincial event.

Asked about their level of readiness for the big test, the manager of MUB, Mr Pfuluwani Tshidzumba, said that his boys were looking forward to the event. Tshidzumba reckoned that the fact they had managed to finish their league programme two months before the promotional play-offs counted in their favour as they had had enough time to prepare for the big event. He appealed to local football lovers to rally behind the team during the match.
