After completing their league programme on top of Stream D2 of the MMK Administrators Soccer League, Manamani City FC are now leaving no stone unturned in their preparations for the promotional playoffs.
City had played their last league match last weekend. They beat Cobra Stars 3-2 at the Tshisaulu Grounds on Sunday. City had completed their league programme with 41 points. They had lost only one of the 18 matches they had played in the season. Their only defeat was against Miluwani Happy Boys, to whom they had lost 1-2 at the Miluwani Grounds.
According to the team’s head coach, Mr Buster Ravhengani, the secret behind the team’s success is dedication on the part of both the players and management team. He said that the technical team had enough time to prepare the team during the off-season.
Ravhengani said that his team had played several friendly matches during the offseason as part of their preparations for the new season. They had also managed to scout some vastly experienced players during the tournaments and rehearsal matches. Some of the players who were scouted during the offseason include two strikers, Malamba Themeli (Muziafera Blue Eagles) and Thabo Sikhwivhilu from Tshimbupfe Disco Stars.
Manamani City were playing against the ABC Motsepe League side, Emmanuel FC, at the Manamani Grounds on Wednesday afternoon in their rehearsal match. The result of the match was not yet available at the time of our going to press.
Manamani City will play against the Stream D1 champions, Tshivhazwaulu Peace Makers, in their stream playoffs before going to the regional promotional playoffs.
