Feast of goals as TRON beat Brazilians

After suffering a 2-7 drubbing at the hands of Mikhado FC at the Rabali Stadium two weeks ago, Tshakhuma RO Nandilani (TRON) rectified their mistakes and beat Makotopong Brazilians 6-4 in their ABC Motsepe League match at the Tshisaulu Mmbengeni Kone grounds on Saturday.

TRON meant business from the first whistle and took just nine minutes to open their account. Ndivhuwo Makhado, the team’s playmaker, gave the ball the final touch after a scramble within the box.

The Brazilians’ keeper, Lerumo Ratsoma, was lucky not to see red in the 24th minute. He advanced out of the penalty area and tackled Mukandangalwo Ramunana the rough way at the edge of the box.

Instead of giving him his marching orders, the referee, Mr Joseph Mathole, flashed yellow and awarded a free kick to the home side. Gift Nemutandani beat the keeper with a half volley from the set piece. The Brazilians’ technical staff blamed the keeper for the two goals. They replaced him with Tebogo Ramphele soon afterwards.

The Brazilians scored two goals in quick succession. Stephen Mokgontwa and Thabo Mokaba were on target in the 34th and 37th minute respectively. TRON reclaimed the lead moments thereafter through Ndivhuwo Makhado to bring the half-time score to 3-2.

A substitute, Lufuno “CJ” Mugodi, scored the fourth six minutes into the last half. Gift Nemutandani forced his way through the Brazilians’ defence and scored the fifth in the 66th minute. The visitors pulled one back via Frans Masilela a little later.

Lufuno Mugodi scored the sixth for TRON ten minutes before the final whistle. The Brazilians did not give in, even though time was running out for them. They scored their fourth through Frans Masilela in the dying minutes of the game.
