Teams ready for Sinthumule & Kutama challenge

 

The seventh annual Sinthumule& Kutama soccer and netball challenge was launched during a ceremony at Benny’s Care in Tshiozwi last Saturday.

The tournament is organised by Sinthumule and Kutama Community Sport Development and caters for 48 teams around Vhembe. The matches will be played on 21, 22, 26 and 29 December at different venues. The finals will be played on 1 of January 2020 at the Ravele ground.

Mr Elvis Phathela, spokesperson for Sinthumule and Kutama Community Sport Development, expressed his appreciation towards the sponsors. “Despite the difficult economic conditions, we still find companies that are prepared to share their takings and support sport,” he added.

The winner of the competition will receive R20 000, a floating trophy, soccer kit and gold medals, while the runners-up will receive R8 000, soccer kit and silver medals. The team that will finish in the third place will go home with R5 000 and bronze medals and the team in fourth position will receive R 4 000.

The teams that do not qualify for the finals will also receive money prizes.
