Matsa All Stars crowned pre-season champs

Matsa All Stars were crowned the KFC Pre-Season Cup 2019/2020 champions after they beat Mudimeli Bombers 3-1 in the final match.

All matches, including the final, were held at the Gadabi Grounds at Ha-Mandiwana village in the Nzhelele area, on 15 and16 December.

Matsa All Stars' coach, Mr Nthabeliseni Maphaha, expressed his appreciation for the effort and commitment Mamu Community Development had shown for the teams in the Nzhelele area. “We had won because of our early preparations, and we are confident that we will come back to the soccer field for next year's games with more strength and energy to defend our cup,” Maphaha said.

“We achieved our goal and vision of creating a space for socialising and interaction among our men through soccer, and also awarding the deserving teams with cash prizes and football materials,” said Mamu Community Development's general secretary, Mr Jafter Mamugudubi. “We are therefore very grateful to all sponsors who supported us in this project and are looking forward to a more successful tournament again. Congratulations to Matsa All Stars!”

Matsa All Stars received R10 000, 23 medals, a soccer kit, a trophy and football equipment. Mudimeli Bombers received R2 000 and a soccer kit. Matanda Juventus and Monaco Rangers also received R2 000 each. The other participating teams received consolatory cash prizes.
