VFA and Happy Boys in Motsepe clash

In the absence of Absa Premiership and GladAfrica Championship League matches locally, all eyes will be on the ABC Motsepe League fixtures this weekend.

Two of the three Vhembe-based sides, Venda Football Academy (VFA) and Tshakhuma RO Nandilani (TRON), will play their matches on home turf, while Mikhado FC will be on the road. The much-awaited match between VFA and Giyani Happy Boys will take place at the Tshifudi Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon. VFA are in the second position on the log with 22 points. The Tshifudi-based side are five points behind the pace setters, Magezi FC. Happy Boys are in the third spot with two points fewer than VFA.

Whether Happy Boys’ strikers, Hloniphani Maluleke and Vutomi Ngomana, will have enough strength to penetrate through the defence of VFA, which is marshalled by Ndivhaleni Manenzhe and Makonde Murendeni, remains to be seen.

The VFA goal poachers, Rudzani Thabo, Unarine Kudzingana and Mosima Tswabutla, are geared to keep the Happy Boys’ defenders run for cover throughout the game.

Tshakhuma RO Nandilani (TRON) will host Magezi FC at the Tshisaulu Mmbengeni Kone grounds. TRON are perched in the relegation zone and donating points to Magezi will push them deep into the relegation quagmire.

Mikhado FC will travel to Polokwane, where they will lock horns with Polokwane City Academy at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Ngwaabe City Motors will fight for league points against Barracah Valley at the Jane Furse Artificial Turf Stadium.

The other fixtures are: The Dolphins FC vs Makotopong Brazilians, Polokwane United vs Mighty FC, Ollesdal FC vs Ndengeza FC and Eleven Fast Tigers vs Ditlou FC.
