Struggle continues in Boy Nemakonde KO

 

The quarter-final matches for the Boy Nemakonde KO Competition were played at the Tshifudi Stadium last Saturday.

Following their 2-1 victory over New Discovery FC, Munangwe United Brothers will now face Tshamutshedzi Water Sand in their semi-final match at the same venue tomorrow morning.

Tshamutshedzi’s way to the semis went via Mulindathavha Ocean Swallows, whom they beat 6-5 in their quarter-final match. The winner was determined through penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw at the end of the regulation time.

The first match will start at 09:00. A rehearsal match between Begwa Masters and Tshaulu Masters will follow soon after the first semi-final game.

The second semi-final will be between Tshilonwe Young Bombers and Belavhathu FC. Young Bombers’ way to the semis went via Tshaulu Hungry Lions, whom they beat 2-1 in their quarter-final match last Saturday.  Belavhathu beat Buluni Happy Boys 3-2 to secure a place in the semi-final stage. This one is scheduled to start at 14:30.   

This year’s champions will walk away with a cash prize of R15 000, a floating trophy, soccer kit and six soccer balls. The runners-up will go home with R1 500, soccer kit and six soccer balls. The third-placed side will get R1 000 and six soccer balls, while the team booted out of the competition in the losers’ final will receive six soccer balls. Teams booted out of the competition in the quarter-final stage will each receive a consolation prize of two soccer balls.
