Eight teams in Nzhelele tournament

 

Eight teams will participate in the Youth Day MFD Legacy soccer spectacular at the Nzhelele Matanda grounds on Saturday and Sunday.

The teams are Rabali Pull Together, Matanda Rockers, Matanda Zebra Force, Bronkhorstspruit MFD Devoted Angels, Alexander Brain FC, Tshivhidulu Hungry Lions, Mauluma Black Mambas and Milaboni Seven United.

According to the sponsor of the tournament, Mr Fhulufhelo Mabuduga, identifying future stars at grassroots level was important. He is a huge supporter of local football development "and we undertook this sponsorship primarily to showcase our support for the sport and because it would help us engage with the people of Limpopo".

The organiser, Mr Kimber Mavhungu, applauded the sponsors for helping to identify talent in the region. "Despite the difficult economic conditions, we still find companies that are prepared to share their takings and support sport," he added.

The champions will receive R15 000, gold medals, a floating trophy and a soccer kit, while the runners-up will receive R5 000, a soccer kit and silver medals.
