Pull Together conquer United Brothers

Rabali Pull Together wrapped up their MMK Administrators League programme with a bang. They beat Maelula United Brothers 3-1 at the Makhuvha Stadium on Sunday.

This was a replay match, following the abandonment of their first game at the Rabali Stadium. Although there was only pride at stake, the game provided enough entertainment.

As if they were going to bury Pull Together alive, United Brothers were the first to find the net. Their only goal came nine minutes into the game. Their overlapping defender, Mashudu Madzhie, caught the keeper of Pull Together, Israel Molele, napping with a close-range half volley.

Pull Together were forced to effect an early change to their starting 11. Their central defender, Cannel Nemapakoni, sustained an injury and he left the pitch with a bleeding wound to the forehead. He was replaced with Ndivhaho Maganndi.

Pull Together found the equalizer in the 34^th minute. Pfano Radzilani headed home after a free kick by Witness Mathebula.

United Brothers lost cohesion in the middle of the park after Pull Together’s goal. They were severely punished for that. Pull Together took the lead four minutes towards the end of the first half. The keeper of United Brothers, Thabelo Simali, advanced out of his penalty area, thereby allowing Steven Mukwevho to hook in a loose ball into an empty net. The score was 2-1 at the end of the first half.

United Brothers introduced Mavhungu Netangula and Mukhethwa Mulaudzi for Ndivhuwo Mushiana and Gundo Sithagu respectively. Israel Molele, the keeper of Pull Together, was reprimanded with a card for wasting time. He took his time before taking a goal kick.

A defender of United Brothers handled the ball within his penalty area and the referee, Mr Deon Mphuma, awarded a penalty to Pull Together. Witness Mathebula converted from the white spot. United Brothers were crowned the Stream G champions, despite the defeat.
