Another tricky hurdle for Peace Makers

The struggle for the MTG KO championship will continue among the teams affiliated to the Thulamela Local Football Association (Thulfa) this weekend.

Three matches will be staged at the Tshivhilwi Young Bombers grounds tomorrow, while the quarter-final matches will be staged at the Khubvi Benjies grounds on Sunday.

In the three matches that will be played at the Young Bombers grounds tomorrow, Fundudzi United Brothers and Muungamunwe Happy Boys will be the first to enter the field of play. United Brothers beat Shanzha Continentals 4-2 at the Tshikombani Stadium last weekend, while Happy Boys beat Mapate Black Mambas 5-4 to secure a place in the last-11 stage of the competition.

The Happy Boys’ strikers, Thabelo Nenngwekhulu and Wanga Mashige, are geared to keep the opposition defence running for cover for the better part of the game.

The winner in this match will play against Tshikovha Arsenal in their quarter-final match at the Khubvi Benjies grounds on Sunday afternoon at 13:00.

Ngwenani Manchester United will take on Zwaloni United in the second match, which is scheduled to start at 13:00. Manchester United’s way to the last-11 stage went via Vondo Vibes, whom they beat 2-0 last weekend.

The combination of Vongani Khosa and Emmanuel Netshilema in Manchester's midfield has the potential to give their opponents a tough time. The winner in this match will meet Mukula Young Brothers in the quarter-final stage on Sunday.

Tomorrow’s programme will be wrapped up by the match between Khubvi Peace Makers and Mangaya Living Commodores, which will kick off at 15:00. The winner in this match will play against Mutale Vikings in their quarter-final stage match at the Khubvi Benjies grounds on Sunday.

Lamvi FC will have a date with Tshaulu Hungry Lions in the other quarter-final match that is scheduled to start at 11:00.

The final will be played on Monday, 16 June, at a venue still to be announced.
