Swallows and United in mayoral clash.

 

Teams affiliated to the Thulamela Local Football Association will be engaged in their Thulamela Mayoral Tournament matches this weekend. All matches will be played on Sunday.

Two matches will be staged at the Makhuvha Stadium. The opening match will be between Tshamutavha Hot Sand and Mbahe Freedom Rebels, which is scheduled to start at 13:00. Tshikonelo United will battle it out for a place in the next stage of the tournament against Banyini Flying Swallows, starting at 15:00.

The same number of matches will be staged at the Thohoyandou P-East grounds. Tshiulungoma FC and Arsenal FC will be the first to enter into the field of play at midday. It will be followed by the match between Tshikhudini FC and Tshikovha Arsenal.

In the two matches that will be played at the Tshisaulu Mmbengeni Kone grounds, Ndondola FC will test their strength against Mashawana Young Tigers and the match between Muungamunwe FC and Hlupheka will follow suit soon afterwards.

Themba Heroes and Ngovhela FC will meet in the opening match at the Phiphidi Shonisani grounds. Tshivhungululu Hungry Vultures and Mapholi Kill Them All will wrap up the day’s programme.

The tournament was officially launched during a ceremony at the Thulamela Local Municipality council chamber last Tuesday. This year’s champions will walk away with R15 000, soccer kit, gold medals, soccer balls and a floating trophy.

The final is scheduled for Saturday, 4 May.
