The road ahead for Black Leopards

With nine more matches for Black Leopards before the end of the season, Lidoda Duvha stand a good chance to escape the relegation axe at the end of the season.

Leopards will play five of their remaining nine matches in front of their home crowd. Their first home fixture will be against the other relegation candidates, Chippa United, at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Sunday’s fixture will be the last for the month as their next match will be against Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday, 7 April.

Their remaining home fixtures will be against Kaizer Chiefs (Saturday, 13 April), Mamelodi Sundowns (Wednesday, 17 April), Maritzburg United (Saturday, 27 April) and Cape Town City (Saturday, May 11).

Lidoda Duvha’s away matches will be against Bidvest Wits, Orlando Pirates and Amazulu.

Leopards must win at least four of their remaining nine matches in order to be certain about their future as an affiliate of the Absa Premiership Division. They are currently lying in the 12th position on the log with 22 points.

The team’s head coach, Mr Dylan Kerr, is adamant that his side will be campaigning in the same division, come next season. He appealed to the team’s fans not to panic, saying they would make sure that they win most of their home matches and fight for at least a draw in their away matches.

The other relegation candidates are: Lamontville Golden Arrows, Amazulu FC, Baroka FC, Chippa United, Free State Stars and the tail-enders, Maritzburg United.
