Leopards’ Zambian striker, Mwape Musonda.

Musonda the top goal scorer

 

Black Leopards might be in the 11th position on the Absa Premiership League log, but they have something to be proud of. Their Zambian striker, Mwape Musonda, is currently the league’s top goal scorer.

Musonda is leading the pack with seven goals scored from the 16 league matches Lidoda Duvha have played to date.

Two of his goals were scored against SuperSport United, when they beat them 2-0 at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday. Also with seven goals is Mothobi Mvala of Highlands Park. Mvala was the National First Division League’s top goal scorer when Highlands Park gained promotion to the premiership division last season.

Five players, Emillano Tade (Amazulu), Vincent Pule (Orlando Pirates), Ayanda Patosi (Cape Town City), Tshegofatso Mabaso (Bloemfontein Celtic) and Siphelele Mthembu (Cape Town City) have each scored five goals so far.  The players who have each scored four goals are: Kabelo Dlamini, Aubrey Modiba (SuperSport United), Khama Billiat (Kaizer Chiefs), Knox Mtizwa (Golden Arrows), Harris Tehilimbou (Free State Stars), Simon Murray (Bidvest Wits), Thembinkosi Lorch (Orlando Pirates), Evans Rusike (SuperSport United), Bongi Ntuli (Amazulu) and Lebohang Maboa (SuperSport United).

James Keena of SuperSport United, Ndumiso Mabena (Bloemfontein Celtic) and Deon Hotto of Bidvest Wits have scored three goals each so far.
