Thovhele Nkhaneni U/16 League to be launched

 

The much-awaited Thovhele Nkhaneni U/16 soccer and netball league will be launched during a ceremony at the Mulenzhe Sports Grounds next Saturday, November 3. According to the league organizer, Mr Eric “Horse” Ligudu, the league is the brainchild of the local traditional leader, Thovhele Vho-Nkhaneni Ramovha.

Ligudu said that 10 soccer teams and 10 netball teams from the 10 villages that fell under the jurisdiction of Thovhele Ramovha would partake in the league activities. The 10 soccer and netball teams are: Thondoni, Tshitopeni, Mutshauda, Makovha, Tambaulate, Khakhanwa Ha-Booi, Khakhanwa-Vhulatathevhe, Dovheni, Rotovhowa and Dididi.

According to Ligudu, all the teams will receive soccer or netball kit, soccer balls, corner flags, nets, referees’ kit and whistles.

The opening league matches will be played shortly after the official launching ceremony. Five soccer matches and five netball matches will be played on the day.

The fixtures for the opening matches are: Thondoni vs Dovheni, Tshitopeni vs Rotovhowa, Mutshauda vs Tambaulate, Khakhanwa Ha-Booi vs Makovha and Khakhanwa Vhulatathevhe vs Dididi.

The Mulenzhe Development Trust and Thovhele Nkhaneni Ramovha will sponsor the league. According to Ligudu, the teams will also get free transport to the matches as part of the sponsorship.
