Cape Umoya declare war against TTM

“We are aware of the fact that Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) are still to lose a league match this season, but they must be ready for war if they want to beat us at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday,” said the head coach of Cape Umoya United, Mr Roger de Sa.

De Sa stated that he was convinced that TTM had assembled a formidable squad this season by merely look at the team’s results in the four league matches they had played to date.

He sent a warning to TTM, however, saying they would be in for a big surprise if they took United for granted.  He agreed that the fact that TTM will be playing in front of their huge home crowd and the high temperatures in Thohoyandou might work against United on Sunday.

Umoya registered their first victory on Monday this week when they beat Richards Bay FC 1-0 at the Cape Town Stadium.

The response of TTM’s head coach, Mr Sello Chokoe, to De Sa’s utterances was that their aim was to win all their home matches and at least play to a draw away from home. “We are still on track so far, because of the four matches we have played to date, we won the two at home and shared the spoils in the two away fixtures,” he said. TTM played to a 2-2 draw against Royal Eagles at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban last Saturday.

The rest of the weekend’s fixtures are (home teams named first): Jomo Cosmos vs Richards Bay FC; Ubuntu Cape Town vs Stellenbosch FC; Ajax Cape Town vs Maccabi FC; Mbombela United vs TS Sporting;  University of Pretoria vs Royal Eagles; Witbank Spurs vs Uthongathi FC and Real Kings vs TS Galaxy.
