Battle of the Stars in Vhembe derby

Another busy weekend awaits the teams affiliated to the Limpopo Stream of the Sasol Women’s League. The big question is who will emerge as the victors in the Vhembe derby between Shayandima Morning Stars and Tshandama Young Stars.

They will fight for supremacy at the Shayandima School grounds tomorrow afternoon.

Morning Stars must win the match to keep their title hopes alive. The Shayandima Stars dropped two league points last weekend when they played to a goalless draw with Chippas United Ladies at the Makhuvha Stadium.

Morning Stars will be without their demon midfielder, Tshisevhe Lidzebe, tomorrow. Lidzebe was given her marching orders after kicking Maggie Mukhuwana in their game against Chippas United Ladies last Sunday. Tebogo Mnisi and Shumani Tshikosi will be expected to do the job in the absence of Lidzebe.

The other Vhembe derby will be between Samba Girls and Chippas United Ladies at the Raliphaswa grounds in the Nzhelele Valley. Just like Shayandima Morning Stars, Chippas will be without one of their key players, Maggie Mukhuwana. She saw red for dangerous play in their game against Shayandima Morning Stars at the Makhuvha Stadium last Sunday.

Seven Stars Ladies will host University of Limpopo at the Gamalekana grounds. Real Mighty Ladies will entertain First Touch Academy at the Mabalane grounds.

The title chasers, Kanatla Ladies, will be away to face Re Tla Dira Ladies at the Dipitsi grounds. The pace setters, Maindis Ladies, will travel to the Mphanama grounds, where they will meet the Mphanama Ladies.

Sisters will host Botlokwa Ladies at the Nwamitwa Dynamos grounds, while Moria Sweepers and Mandebele Happy Fighters will lock horns at the Capricorn FET College grounds.
