Victory for Barcelona in local derby

Tshiozwi Barcelona beat Tshiozwi Mates 2-1 in their The Fresh One local derby played at Tshiozwi on Sunday.

It was evident from the start that Barcelona were going to collect full points as the hosts were outclassed in all departments. Barcelona opened their account in the 10thminute. Their all-rounder, Tshedza Mutandari, was on target, following a neat pass from Phindulo Mabasa.

Mates came close to scoring again in the 24th minute. Dakalo Ralephata held onto the ball for too long within the Barcelona danger area, until he lost possession. The score was 1-0 in favour of Barcelona when the referee blew the half-time whistle.

Mates gained momentum with time. Their equalizing goal came in the 74thminute. Fhulufhelo Mulaudzi made no mistake after receiving a pre-cooked pass from Brighton Sebola.

Phindulo Mabasa scored the second goal of his team, while Marris Ndou of Mates was given a red card for a second bookable offence late in the game.

Mates did not lose hope; despite trailing 2-1 they continued to play like a team, with their midfielders dishing out some telling passes to the strikers. They came close to scoring in the 84th minute, when Khumbudzo Ndou shot wide from inside the box after beating two defenders in a row.
