Witbank Spurs tame Black Leopards

Although Black Leopards donated points to Witbank Spurs last weekend, there is no reason for them to press the panic button. Lidoda Duvha lost 0-2 to Witbank Spurs at the Puma Rugby Stadium in eMalahleni on Sunday.

Black Leopards are still lying in the 2nd position on the log with 44 points, accumulated from 27 outings. Jomo Cosmos, who could have overtaken Black Leopards had they won their match against Royal Eagles at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg, did Lidoda Duvha a big favour by sharing the spoils with the Eagles. They played to a goalless draw.

Jomo Cosmos are still rooted in the 3rd spot on the log with 43 points accumulated from the same number of matches.

Black Leopards will play against Jomo Cosmos in their final league match. The good news for the Thohoyandou outfit is that it will be a home match. Should the status quo remain in the next two matches, the team that will finish 2nd position in the league will be determined by the result of the match between Black Leopards and Jomo Cosmos at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday, 6 May.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) enjoyed their 1-0 lead against Real Kings for the better part of the second half only to concede an equalizer in the referee’s optional time at the Thohoyandou Stadium. Themba Ndlovu scored for TTM while the Kings’ goal came via Sello Motsepa.

Stellenbosch FC beat Mbombela United 2-0 at the Kabokweni Stadium in Nelspruit. It was a feast of goals when Pretoria University beat Cape Town All Stars 4-3. Uthongathi FC shared the spoils with Ubuntu Cape Town following their 1-1 draw.

Highlands Park continued to deposit the full points into their league’s account by beating Mthatha Bucks 3-0. Super Eagles beat Richards Bay FC 2-1 at the Umhlatuze Sports Complex in Richards Bay.
