TTM disappoint again

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) are fast becoming the milk cow of the National First Division. They have lost four consecutive matches, following their 1-3 defeat at the hands of Jomo Cosmos at the Vosloorus Stadium on Sunday.

Frank Motebejane scored TTM’s solitary goal. The victory was sweet revenge for Jomo Cosmos as they lost 0-1 to TTM in their first-round league match at the Thohoyandou Stadium five months ago. The Tshakhuma side are still rooted in the 6th spot on the log, the position they were holding for the past three weeks.

TTM still have a mathematical chance to secure a place in the promotional playoff matches at the end of the season, but then the other teams will have to assist them. They must win their remaining four matches, with Jomo Cosmos and Real Kings dropping some points along the way for them to get into a promotional play-off place.

Black Leopards enhanced their chances of taking part in the promotional play-offs by collecting full points at the expense of Uthongathi FC at the Thohoyandou stadium. The goal through which Lidoda Duvha earned the three vital points came via a substitute, Ivan Mahangwahaya towards the end of the game. Black Leopards are in in the second spot on the log with 44 points, two ahead of Jomo Cosmos.

Although a draw against Pretoria University would have been enough for them to gain automatic promotion to the Absa Premiership Division, Highlands Park did not leave anything to chance when they brutally walloped Amatuks 5-1 in Thembisa. Real Kings shared the spoils with Mbombela United, when they played to a goalless draw at the Kanyamazane Stadium in Nelspruit.

In the other matches, Witbank Spurs beat Cape Town All Stars 1-0, Mthatha Bucks and Richards Bay FC played to a 2-2 draw, Super Eagles lost 0-3 to Ubuntu Cape Town at the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem and Stellenbosch FC and Royal Eagles played to a 1-1 draw.

Promoted - Highlands Park FC.
