Leopards ready to maul Mbombela

If Black Leopards’ performance in their last two league matches is anything to go by, Mbombela United will be lucky if they manage to go back to Nelspruit with a draw. Leopards and Mbombela will battle it out in their National First Division League match at the Thohoyandou Stadium tomorrow.

Leopards beat Royal Eagles 1-0 and walloped Ubuntu Cape Town 4-0 in their last two matches.

According to the Leopards’ team manager, Mr Elijah Mulaudzi, three of their key players, Andiswa Ndawonde, Marks Munyai and Xolani Ndlovu, will possibly watch the game from the grandstand because of injuries. Munyai will be subjected to a late fitness test.

The good news for Lidoda Duvha is that their centre back, Thivhavhudzi Ndou, will be available for selection tomorrow after missing six matches as a result of injury. Should he be given a chance, Ndou will form a deadly combination with Jean Mungana and Isaac Masia at the far back.

Royal Eagles, who recently sacked their head coach, Mr Kostadin Papic, and his assistant, Mr Vladislav Heric, will host Uthongathi FC at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.

Real Kings and Richards Bay will test each other’s strength at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban. Pretoria University will pay a visit to Mthatha Bucks at the Mthatha Stadium.

Three matches will be played on Sunday. Stellenbosch will take on Ubuntu Cape Town at the Parow Park Stadium and Jomo Cosmos and Highlands Park will meet at the Vosloorus Stadium. Highlands Park are on top of the log while Cosmos are in the fourth position.

Super Eagles will entertain Witbank Spurs at the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila will fly to Cape Town where they will lock horns with Cape Town All Stars at the Parow Park Stadium in the only match that will be played this afternoon.

Back after injury: Leopards’ centre back, Thivhavhudzi Ndou.

Leopards’ right back, Marks Munyai, will be subjected to a late fitness test.
