Maweja suprise Ndengeza

The unpredictable Joe Maweja surprised the on-form Ndengeza FC in the Safa Limpopo ABC Motsepe League and beat them 3-2 on Saturday at the Giyani Stadium.

Maweja approached the game aggressively, with their strikers showing a great appetite for goals. Iza Boma of  Ndengeza was the first player to go into the referee’s book. He tackled Talifhani Mphaphuli from behind just outside the penalty box.

Maweja's opening goal came in the 15th minute. Lesiba Thaba scored with a header after a corner kick by Rudzani Munyai. Dengeza did not lose hope, despite trailing by one goal. They equalised in the 27th minute through  Matimu Tshabalala.

Ndengedza increased the margin in the 30th minute. Moses Maresi was on target after intercepting a back pass.

Maweja were the first to effect a change to their starting line-up. They replaced Rotshidzwa Nyadzani with Takalani Mashila in the third minute of the second half. Mashila formed a deadly combination with Lesiba Thaba at the forefront. Thaba equalized through a beautiful shot. He increased the margin and scored his team's winning goal and completed his hat trick in the 85th minute.
