R30 000 for The Rock FC

 

The Rock FC were crowned the Zama Zama Soccer Challenge champions at the Homu 14 B grounds in Giyani. They beat Jilongo FC 2-1 in the final.

The Rock were presented with R30 000, a floating trophy, soccer kit and gold medals during a ceremony held at the grounds shortly after the final whistle.

Jilongo FC took home R15 000, soccer kit and silver medals. The teams booted out in the semi-final stage of the tournament, Ngove Masipala and Gawula Arsenal, each received R7 500.

In the ladies’ category, Sisters FC from Nwamitwa village beat Shayandima Morning Stars 5-4 in the final. The winner was determined through a penalty shoot-out. Sisters FC received R6 000, a floating trophy and gold medals during the ceremony. Shayandima Morning Stars went home with R3 000 and silver medals. Teams that lost in the semi-final stage, Mninginisi Brave Ladies and Moria Sweepers, received R1 500 each.

Nwamankena Masters beat Ngove Masters 2-1 in the final of the men’s football masters category. Nwamankena received a soccer kit and gold medals during the ceremony.
