RO Na Ndilani wallop Atlantis Stars

Tshakhuma RO Na Ndilani maintained their unbeaten record, when they brutally walloped Mutsha Atlantis Stars 5-0 in their MMK Administrators Soccer League match at the Tshakhuma Malaria grounds on Sunday.

Atlantis started the game with 10 men as they did not have enough U/23 players. They managed to match the home side pound for pound throughout the first half.

Na Ndilani were leading 1-0 at the end of the first half. Their opening goal came in the 19th minute via Thabiso Lekgau. He headed home following a scramble within the box.

Things turned against the visitors in the opening minutes of the last half. Oscar Ntshauba forced his way and beat the keeper with a ground cutter. Both Ntshauba and the Atlantis’ keeper, Khuliso Mugivhi, sustained injuries in the process. Mugivhi’s injury was so serious that he could not continue with the game. Unfortunately for the Stars they could not replace him, and they continued to fight it with nine soldiers.

A substitute, Thivhulawi Silima, was on target in the 64th minute, following a neat pass from Oscar Ntshauba.

To rub salt into Stars’ wounds, one of their key players, Prince Dzivhani, was given his marching orders following a heated debate with the referee.

Na Ndilani replaced Rofhiwa Netshiungani with Lufuno Mugodi late in the game. Mugodi formed a deadly combination with Ndivhuwo Makhado and Tshivhulawi Silima at the forefront. Na Ndilani put the matters beyond doubt in the 76th minute when Lufuno Mugodi gave the ball a final touch after some duel moves with Thivhulawi Silima.

Atlantis Stars threatened to score moments thereafter, when Ipfi Muthubi tried his luck with a half volley from the 25-meter area. Thabelo Nefuri, the keeper of Na Ndilani, palmed the ball away for a corner kick. Ndivhuwo Makhado scored the 5th in the dying minutes of the game.
