Fixtures: Madridtas and Maweja in ABC League clash

It is expected that a large crowd of soccer lovers will be at the Tshifudi Stadium on Sunday afternoon. That is where the Vhembe derby between Madridtas FC and Joe Maweja will be staged.

Maweja, who recently sold their status to a resident of Manavhela village, Mr Alex Abureni, are fighting for survival. They are languishing at the bottom of the log with 4 points accumulated from 11 outings. On the other hand, Madridtas, who are lying in the 7th spot on the log, would love a victory to help keep their title hopes alive.

It remains to be seen whether the defenders of Maweja, Madilonga Mukwevho, Tshifhiwa Ramaphosa and Thetshelesani Tshipani will have the power to stop the Madridtas forwards, Langanani Matodzi and Pfunzo Tshikotshi.

Madridtas are still in shock after losing 1-2 to Magezi FC last weekend. Maweja drew 1-1 with Great North FC.

The other Vhembe based side, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, will host Baroka FC at the Tshifulanani Stadium. Tshakhuma are not on the safe side when it comes to relegation. They are in the second last position and a victory is non-negotiable for them.

Another match that is expected to attract a huge number of spectators will be between Mikhado FC and Ndengeza FC at the Rabali Stadium. Ndengeza, who were leading the pack from the beginning of the season, surrendered their leadership to The Dolphins FC last weekend following their 2-3 defeat at the hands of Polokwane Academy.

The other ABC Motsepe League fixtures are: Dolphins FC vs Ditlou FC; Polokwane United vs Boyne Young Tigers; Giyani Hotspurs vs Molemole Academy; Polokwane Academy vs Magezi FC and Great North FC vs Mighty FC.
