Another humiliation for TTM

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila Football Club (TTM) are struggling to handle the heat of the National First Division.

They lost their second NFD League match in succession when Mthatha Bucks beat them 2-0 at the Mthatha Stadium on Sunday.

The Bucks’ centre forward, Mpho Erasmus, was a marvel to watch in the game and he scored both his team’s goals. His opening goal came 23 minutes into the game. He made no mistake after receiving a brilliant pass from Eric Maseko.

Erasmus completed his brace with a half volley in the 40th minute.

Just like in their home match against Cape Town All Stars at the Thohoyandou Stadium two weeks ago, TTM were the superiors when it came ball possession. TTM are still to deposit a point into their league account and are languishing at the bottom of the log.

During last weekend’s matches, the University of Pretoria were the hardest hit. They were brutally walloped 5-0 by Jomo Cosmos at the Vosloorus Stadium on Sunday. Cosmos scored their first two goals within the first 10 minutes via Tebogo Makobela (6th) and Mxolisi Machupu (7th). The other three goals came via Sicelo Mkhize, Cyril Lingwati and Clifford Mulenga.

Stellenbosch FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Uthongathi FC at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Mogamad de Goede scored for Stellenbosch in the fourth minute, while Uthongathi retaliated through Xolani Slawula later in the game.

The pace setters, Highlands Park FC, maintained their unbeaten record by beating Royal Eagles 2-1 at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg. Super Eagles lost 1-3 to Mbombela United at the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem.

Lucky Sitelele scored the only goal of the game when Cape Town All Stars beat Richards Bay United 1-0 at the Athlone Stadium.

Real Kings and Witbank Spurs shared the spoils, following their 1-1 draw at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Durban.

The match between Black Leopards and Ubuntu Cape Town at the Thohoyandou Stadium ended in a 2-2 draw.
