Gooldville Young Tigers were crowned the Victra Easter Soccer Tournament champions after beating Tshitereke Young Masters 6-5 in the final at the Vhufuli Gooldville grounds last Thursday.
Tigers received R3 500, a floating trophy, soccer kit, gold medals and two soccer balls during a ceremony at the grounds shortly after the final.
The runners-up, Tshitereke Young Masters, took home R1 800, soccer kit, silver medals and two soccer balls. Tshitereke Citizen Stars, who obtained the third position, received R750 and two soccer balls, while Domboni FC received R650 and two soccer balls.
Domboni lost 0-1 to Tshitereke Citizen Stars in their losers’ final match at the same venue earlier that day.
The top goal scorer in the tournament, Tshifhiwa “One-one” Nedzamba of Young Tigers, received R200, while the best player of the tournament, Lucky Ndou, received a trophy.
The runners-up in the U/12 category, Vondwe Development FC, were given R200 and a soccer ball. The champions, Ngwenani Happy Boys, took home a cash prize of R250 and a soccer ball.
