Tshilidzi Mulaudzi turns pro

After 18 years of campaigning in the amateur boxing ranks, a resident of Lwamondo Zwavhavhili has finally turned professional.

Tshilidzi Mulaudzi’s dream of becoming a boxer became a reality when he joined Mathule Boxing Club in 1999. At that stage, the boxing club was under the leadership of Mr Nnyawedzeni Mashapha. He later joined the Makwarela Boxing Club where he stayed for five years. In 2009, he moved back home to join the Lwamondo Boxing Club under the leadership of Mr Freedom Nemurangoni.

When asked as to why it took him about two decades to turn professional, Mulaudzi said that he had encountered many challenges in his boxing career. He revealed that he had nobody to guide him to becoming a professional boxer, saying that it is no wonder he only turned professional at the age of 34.

“Old Crock”, as he is known in the boxing ring, said that he will never forget his fight against Jonny Grobler, to whom he lost with points in Durban last year. After turning professional last month, Mulaudzi joined the Sibasa Boxing Club where is being trained by a well-known local trainer, Mr John Nemakonde. He stated that his dream is to win a world title within the next four years.
