Victory for Classic in Giyani derby

Things did not go according to plan in the camp of Giyani Hotspurs last weekend. They are still battling to come to terms with the 1-2 defeat they suffered at the hands of their neighbours, Gawula Classic, in their ABC Motsepe League match at the Giyani Stadium on Saturday.

As if they were going to teach Classic a soccer lesson, Hotspurs were the first to find the net. Their solitary goal came in the 17th minute via Edward Hlungwane. He received a pre-cooked pass from Kenny Honwani and blasted in a rocket from close range.

In the second half, Classic initiated several moves from behind and found the equalizer in the 74th minute via Eric Baloyi. Noel Shikwambana was on target three minutes before the final whistle to ensure Classic deposit full points into their league account.

Bellevue Winners Park were unstoppable when they crushed Mokopane Ratanang 4-1 at the Mahwelereng Stadium.

History was made when Great North FC brutally walloped A1 Terrors 8-1 at the Seshego Stadium. As the score indicates, the game was one-way traffic flow from the start to the end, with Great North scoring almost every ten minutes.

Joe Maweja caused an upset by giving away league points to Polokwane United in their contest at the Tshifulanani Stadium.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila have reason to panic after losing 2-3 to Polokwane Academy at the Polokwane Rugby Fields and Madridtas are still in shock after losing 0-2 to Lephalale Young Killers at the TT Cholo Stadium. The score could have been 3-0 for Young Killers, had they not missed a penalty.

Boyne Young Tigers beat The Dolphins 3-2 at Boyne Stadium.
