Thovhele Mulima visits Bo die Krans Lodge at Mukondeni

Thovhele Vho-Fhatuwani Mulima, the senior traditional leader at Mukondeni village, welcomed a new overnight accommodation facility in the area. He was part of a delegation that visited a newly built lodge on Saturday.

The Bo die Krans Lodge and Conference lodge is situated about 15km from Elim on a hill between the Nwammbi and Mudzhadzhane rivers. Phase 1 of the construction work is now complete, and members of the public will be able to visit from 5 December onwards. The official opening will only take place on 3 April 2021.

Mulima described the new lodge as a first-of-its-kind facility for the village. “All of us are to support this vision,” he said.

“Whenever artists come to perform at the lodge, an opportunity will be created for local vendors and our youth to generate income for their families.” Mulima added. He mentioned this after an announcement was made that top artists such as Makhadzi, Colbert Mukwevho, Zozo & Sengere beat and Trika will perform at the opening event.

The owner of the new lodge, Dr Ntavhanyeni Sampie Phaswana, said that the new tourism facility would have a positive impact on the neighbouring communities. “Students from the FET Colleges will now have an opportunity to do their practical training at Bo die Krans Lodge in Mukondeni. The lodge is geared for growth. The current 30 en-suite rooms and swimming pools are going to be increased to cater for more visitors during weddings and other functions in the area,” Phaswana said.
